New Serger

Posted by administrator on Friday, November 6th, 2009

I've been in the market for a new serger for a few months now.  Originally, I was thinking of buying the new Pfaff, but then I saw the Babylock Evolution.  Wow , is it cool !  It threads itself. Just blows me away.  I've struggled for 15 years with my old serger's threading system.  It was so difficult that I just gave up doing anything but a three thread cover stitch.  The Babylock does all kinds of cool stuff like flat hems, blind hem, every cover stitch you can think of and much more!  I know I sound like a commercial, but it is just way to cool.  I already have a project lined up.  Now I just have to find a couple of hours to play.

I'll report back once I've actually made something.  Can't wait to get started.  I might even be persuaded to make a garment... na, that's just too radical for me !

  • Joann, Thanks for the nice note. I finally had a little time to play with my serger, I can't believe how easy it is. Making my Christams napkins will be a breeze!

  • Hi Anna! I have an older Bernina serger and I too dread the threading and getting the tension adjusted on it, would love to know how your new serger works out for you. maybe I will have to add a new serger to my very long and always growing wish list. :0) BTW I love your website and blog...the color and scrolls are perfect!
